Twitter plus Video: Twiddeo by V:social Goes Live, and so does Minuteature Cell Vlogging
Here’s a timely blend: connecting twitterers with video sharing on Twiddeo. The motto is “Don’t just tell people what you are doing, show them!” The about page points to V:social. whose service is operated by Custom One Media, LLC. Twiddeo is a mashup of the Twitter API with the vSocial video engine API.
Some of the twitterers reportedly feel that Twitter’s simplicity is at risk on Twiddeo. See the report on MoBuzz (also available in Spanish):
The idea was very quickly put into practice to exploit the first mover’s advantageous position. As Shaune on Mashable writes in his pre-launch post “After receiving requests from their clients to see about combining video with Twitter, V:social decided to give it a shot, and after only one week of work, Twiddeo was ready to go. The idea is that instead of telling people what you’re doing, now you’ll just be able to show them what’s going on in your life.” Brad Webb, currently the CTO of vSocial “pulled Jonathan Apostoles away from the grindstone for a week, and he banged things out.” You don’t like the design? Yes, Brad admits it has a very spartan look, but I suppose it will get a neater facade soon.
Now if something lets you get to know a strongly futuristic target group of yours it is twiddeo. That’s a good test how cell and video and in fact cell miniature/ minuteature vlogging is going to work. I wonder when they add Twiddeo to FaceBook.
Mike Luby has a nice suggestion list for further developments here. Two of them are essential to reach beyond the Twitter empire:
- Lets add to the viral aspect, why not allow users to share the videos via email
- Allow users the ability to embed the video elsewhere. When the video is embedded don’t forget to add the description of the video that the user sends in.
