The Funders of Ooyala
Who are the funders of Ooyala? Back in October 2007 was “not disclosing who its funders are, though it has raised a round.” (NewTeeVee). Bismarck Lepe, the co-founder of Ooyala writes in the ooyala blog:
Earlier this month, we closed our Series B round of funding with Sierra Ventures and our initial group of angel investors. We are excited to welcome Mark Fernandes - Managing Director at Sierra - to our Board. Keep an eye out, as we move forward with great things in the coming weeks and months.
The Tech Beat of Business Week adds
Lepe tells me that Ooyala’s backers include angel investors such as former Yahoo CEO Tim Koogle and venture capitalist Kip Hagopian from Redpoint Ventures, though that next round of funding is said to be imminent.
And finally, Ooyala got a one time ‘fund’ as the winner of the Amazon Web Services Start-Up Challenge.
