Video Jobs Ads Boom
Marketers are expecting a major advertising boom in online video jobs ads. The increased spending on recruiting advertisements enhanced by video input are driven by the following industries: automotive, real estate, recruitment, and healthcare.
I remember how hard I tried to push a healthcare client to put together a 30 second Google video ad (for placement targeting, major video social networking sites, etc. - not it could be in Google search too!) to increase the response rate (which anyway has quadrupled by then, but there’s never enough from certain types of job applicants!). And it was just too much for the client, too fast, they weren’t able to react in time, even though it would have been only a couple of hours to put together a 30 sec video spot with excellent testimonials from existing workers! But the bigger the mammoth, the slower the decision making process.
Recruiters, use video ads, and enhance it with hypervideo features to enhance your attractiveness and expand time limits.

Revenues from online job ads are expected to rise 24 percent to more than $11 billion by 2012, and a good chunk of that could come from video advertising. A new report suggests use of online video on sites such as Monster, HotJobs and CareerBuilder, as well as local media sites, already is becoming popular with recruiters.
In addition to recruitment ad predictions, the 2008 Online Recruitment Advertising report from Borrell Associates shows total ad spending for online video, at around $522 million last year, will hit $10 billion four years from now. The local media research firm also forecasts that by 2012 online local video will reach more than $5 billion, over a third of all local online ad spending.
And I just remembered how hard Google is trying to recruit people in AdWords text ads but not in video ads. Are they flooded enough with gorgeous applicants? (helped by viral marketing like the pps going around on the Google Office in Zurich, Switzerland…)
